SMAU Savings Challenge: Save 1.3m UGX in a year

Mr Stingy is here today to help you save more this new year with a simple savings challenge that I hope all SMAU members will be ready to take.

It looks quite simple but requires discipline and commitment to pull through. In this easy challenge we shall be making weekly savings and adding on just 1000 UGX per week from previous week’s savings. That is simply put as; Week 1 = 1000 UGX, Week 2 = 2000 UGX, etc.

You can however adjust the  starting amount or the multiple in which you save to a figure that will not  stretch you a lot. Choose the level of aggression that suits your finances.

You can open a savings account with any bank of your choice specifically for this challenge and watch your money grow.

Some people may also choose the reverse version of this challenge by starting the first week with 52000UGx savings and reducing the amount by 1000 UGX each week. Choose whatever you find suitable.
